How we handle your data

Your data is yours.

Taaruf takes your privacy seriously. The information you share through this tool is deeply personal and we treat it with the respect it deserves.

What we collect

  • Your first name (entered when you create or join a session)
  • Your questionnaire answers
  • Your profile information (values, about me, what you are looking for)
  • Session codes that link two people together

What we do NOT collect

  • Your email address
  • Your phone number
  • Your location
  • Your IP address for tracking purposes
  • Any payment information

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored securely in a Supabase database hosted in the EU (Ireland). It is not shared with any third party. It is not used for advertising. It is not sold.

Who can see your data

  • Only you and the person you are in a session with can see your answers
  • Neither person can see the other's answers until both have completed a chapter
  • Profile information is visible to your session partner only
  • No one else — including the tool's creator — views individual session data

AI Analysis

If you choose to generate a compatibility analysis, your anonymised answers are sent to OpenAI's API to generate personalised insights. This data is not stored by OpenAI beyond the immediate request. No names or identifying information are included in the AI prompt beyond first names.

Data retention

Session data is retained for as long as the session exists. There is currently no automatic deletion. If you want your data removed, contact us and we will delete your session and all associated responses.

  • Download your results as a PDF
